Over the course of the YAWP programs, students will be paired up with an adult mentor from the Asian American Artists Collective (usually a Teaching Artist or Teaching Assistant), who shares a similar discipline, has a common style, or a common background. Mentors/Buddies work with students in-class periodically, and are responsible for checking up on the progress of his or her buddy. If the student wishes outside assistance, mentors/buddies insure they make time to participate in optional, supervised, group activities.
